The Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst position within Sonoco’s Corporate Accounting team is a unique role that works closely with all levels of the organization, working on SEC filings, analysis on various corporate activities, leading process improvement initiatives, GL and Subsidiary ledger transactions and many other important items.

Here’s what you need to know.

You will report directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting, but be utilized as strong independent thinker and impactful A-player in the accounting & finance organizations. Your primary responsibility will be to perform and /or review analyses of corporate accruals and related expenses, prepare consolidated financial statements and public company filings and, research accounting/reporting issues and develop support for selected accounting treatments, and provide support to division finance staff on accounting issues. You will also work on Coordinating the corporate expense budgeting and forecasting processes as well as preparing internal reports and analyses of business operating results.

Do you have what it takes?

This position requires a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting and kudos if you hold your MBA/MAcc too! We are looking for this person to have their CPA or other certification as well. Additionally, at least 6+ years of experience in a medium to large public accounting firm working on SEC filings, or within a large public company with direct SEC reporting experience is critically important. Our ideal candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, be extremely detail oriented and task driven. This is a progression position and could be a level I, II, or III. Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate’s experience and education, and current business needs.
