Safety and Environmental Technician - Job Code: SET3

Weekend Shift (Friday-Saturday-Sunday, 5am-5:30pm)

$17.95 – $23.01

Position is accountable for conducting analyses of hazard and health and environmental risks and prescribing the preventive or corrective measures, equipment, training and education necessary to ensure that the location meets and/or exceeds the requirements of federal, state, and local regulations, codes and/or laws and company policies and procedures.

General responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Provide training to associates in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, job specific safety requirements.
  • Preparation of training information such as Single Point Lessons, Safety Topics, etc.
  • Maintaining required records, preparing reports and files as necessary to meet plant safety and environmental program requirements.
  • Assist with incident investigations, documentation and reviews.
  • Assist with monitoring program compliance requirements, i.e. PPE usage, etc.
  • Conducting inspections and auditing of safety & environmental programs.
  • Coordinating emergency response activities as required.
  • Conduct ergonomics assessments, job hazard analysis and reviews of new or modified equipment for safety & environmental requirements.
  • Will be responsible for other tasks as required.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.

Successful candidates will have High School diploma. Prefer previous experience in safety and environmental programs or certificates in safety. Willing to be First Aid, CPR & AED certified.
